Young Scientists

Young scientists are an essential building block for the establishment of sustainable One Health research in Germany, because today´s young scientists are the One Health researchers of tomorrow. OHP offers various funding instruments to integrate young scientists into the One Health Platform (OHP) and support their One Health research.

OHP offers special event formats for the formation of a young One Health community in Germany and the early anchoring of the One Health idea in the training of scientists: the Young One Health Forum, a Spring School on current topics/needs in the One Health context, the One Health Career Get-together and, in the long term, an online seminar series. At the annual Young One Health Symposium, a poster prize is also awarded to contributions by young scientists.

In order to ensure that young scientists participate at eye level in the One Health platform's steering work, two places on the Scientific Advisory Board are reserved for young scientists. More on the representation of young scientists.

In addition, two One Health Training Grants are awarded annually via the OHP. These are awarded to motivated young scientists to enable short research stays in laboratories and working groups outside the field.
