One Health Training Grants

The One Health Training Grants (OHTGs) are a funding format of the One Health Platform (OHP) that is specifically aimed at early-career scientists.

The OHTGs offer financial support for guest stays in a laboratory/research institution or with a practice partner, for example to learn a new method, jointly analyze samples or data sets, collect field samples, test new experimental approaches, or similar. They are thus intended to support interdisciplinary exchange in line with the One Health approach. The prerequisite for funding by the OHP is the interdisciplinary nature of the exchange and its relevance to One Health research.

The One Health Research Grant funds cover:

  • Travel expenses for the applicant
  • Accommodation costs for the duration of the stay
  • Per diem allowance, if applicable

Eligibility:

All young scientists who are members of the OHP and work at a German research institution are eligible to apply. The conditions for membership are laid down in the statutes. Early-career researchers are defined as master's students, doctoral candidates, and postdocs who completed their doctorate no more than four years ago. Parental leave and childcare periods are counted toward the postdoc phase.
