The foundation of the One Health Patform is the German Research Platform for Zoonoses, or Zoonoses Platform for short. From 2009 to 2023, an interdisciplinary research community grew up in Germany under the umbrella of the Zoonoses Platform, which promoted zoonoses research in Germany across disciplines and institutions and realized the first networking between human and veterinary research areas. In December 2023, the One Health Platform was founded, which will replace and expand the Zoonoses Platform. More information on the history of the Zoonoses Platform and projects funded under the umbrella of the Zoonoses Platform can be found below.
In order to accommodate the diversity of existing basic research and clinical activities in the field of One Health, the office of the Research Platform is located in three closely linked locations:
Münster; c/o Institute of Virology, University Münster
Greifswald - Insel Riems; c/o Friedrich-Loeffler-Institute, Federal Research Institute for Animal Health
Greifswald; c/o Helmholtz Institute for One Health
The term One Health is on everyone's lips and is used by various stakeholders worldwide. However, the exact definition of the term often remains vague, which makes it difficult to design and implement concrete actions.erschwert.
One Health on your ears - that's what you get with the One Health Platform podcast. The One Health Platform podcast takes you into the exciting world of One Health research. In each episode, you can look forward to interesting interview partners and find out why it is worth looking at the health of animals, humans and the environment together.
Due to the localization of One Health research at the interface of different scientific fields, this field of research places special demands on young scientists. The One Health Certificate of the One Health Platform is intended to support the interdisciplinary training of doctoral students and promote the widest possible qualification for further work in the One Health field.
In order to give young scientists a voice in the scientific steering committee of the One Health Platform, the Scientific Advisory Board, two places are reserved exclusively for young scientists. The junior representatives are elected annually together with the other SAB members and have the same voting rights as the other elected members.
The Scientific Advisory Board is the central scientific steering committee of the One Health Platform. It represents the One Health Platform externally and manages day-to-day business together with the administrative office. It performs overarching tasks and makes science-related decisions.
Since the health of animals, humans and the environment does not stop at national borders, but is a global challenge, we would like to support the international networking of scientists in the One Health field.
